Thin Air Theatre Company’s return to The Butte Theater

Slightly delayed due to COVID-19

After their 2-year hiatus, the much-anticipated return of Thin Air Theatre Company to the stage of The
Butte Theater in Cripple Creek will be delayed by a few more weeks due to COVID-19.
TATC & The Butte Theater have always had the safety of the patrons, artists and employees as a top

priority. So during these unprecedented times, we have closely monitored the situation regarding Covid-19 and after much research and advice from health experts, have revised the summer schedule with the decision to push back the opening of TATC’s Summer Season by a few weeks.

UNDER THE COLORADO MOON (a new adaptation of Ouida’s UNDER TWO FLAGS…written by Cripple Creek’s favorite playwright Chris Sorensen) will now open on Friday, July 17, 2020. A New York gentleman fakes his own death and flees to the rough & tumble mountain town of Cripple Creek, where he finds love and is forced by a man who is as cruel as he is rich to choose between his new love & his own
freedom. Our melodrama will be accompanied by an all-new Salute to Cripple Creek Olio.

The following week, on Saturday, July 25, 2020, we will open the classic Golden Age Musical GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES, based on the bestseller book of the same title. The show, set in the 1950s, follows a blonde bombshell from Arkansas, who sails to Europe with her friend to meet her intended…the delightfully rich Gus Esmond, son of America’s Button King. Miscommunication, hijinks & just plain too much money lend themselves to the plot…which was made into a 1953 movie starring Marilyn Monroe &
Jane Russell. Hit songs include “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” & “Bye-Bye, Baby” guarantee to have you singing & smiling as you leave the Butte.

The two (2) show will run in rotating repertory through the 16th of August. Come join TATC at The Butte Theater in Cripple Creek, CO. Tickets are on now at the Butte Box Office: (719) 689-6402 / / / or look for us on Facebook.

If you have further questions or need to re-schedule a reservation for a show we have canceled due to COVID-19, please reach out to Mel Moser by email at or phone 719-689-6402.
