SUSPECT IN POSSESSION OF MORE THAN 50 DIFFERENT IDENTITY DOCUMENTS
Teller County, CO, on April 15, 2018 –Deputies with the Teller County Sheriff’s Office contacted Richard Wayne Beam for what they thought was a Motorist Assist on County Road 25. What deputies found was drug paraphernalia, a controlled substance, Colorado Identification Cards, Colorado Driver’s Licenses, Social Security Cards, credit cards, blank checks, bank account numbers, routing numbers, and other documents belonging to numerous victims.
Mr. Beam was taken into custody and charged with:
5 Counts Criminal Possession of Identification Documents (Felony 5)
43 Counts Criminal Possession of a Financial Transaction Device (Felony 5)
66 Counts Identity Theft (Felony 4)
Mr. Beam also faces various misdemeanor charges.Teller County Sheriff’s Office is working to contact all the
identified victims in this case and is working with Pikes Peak’s regional law enforcement agencies to identify which of their cases the identities are associated with.
