Final week for dropping off toys. The Teller County Assessor & the Victor Elks are partnering to collect toys through December 11 for the Victor Elks Christmas Basket Project serving 70 families in Teller County. Please drop off a new unwrapped toy at the Courthouse, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Fidelity Title, Park State Bank, SYS Auction, Tweeds, or Ute Pass Chamber of Commerce. New or used bicycles needed. Wednesday, Dec. 9
State of our City Membership Breakfast. Sponsored by the Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce, this is a prime opportunity to hear from Woodland Park Mayor Neil Levy about the current accomplishments and future projections for the city of Woodland Park. The breakfast is scheduled for Dec. 9 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Ute Pass Cultural Center. For more information, call 719-687-9885.

Holiday Headframe Lighting. Holiday ornaments, some as large as 20 feet tall, will be lit against the starry night skies of the Victor and Cripple Creek from now through Jan. 1. A self-guided driving tour map will be available at area businesses, as well as the Cripple Creek Heritage Center and online at VictorColorado.com. The lights will be best viewed after dark and will be in place Friday through Sunday nights through New Year’s Day, weather/safety and volunteers permitting. This year the lights on the Cresson Headframe in Victor have been refurbished and do not miss the Silver Bells on the Strong Mine in Victor.the annual event is sponsored by the Teller County Focus Group and the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company. As for other forthcoming festivities, the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum and gift shop will be open from 11-4, on weekends through Dec. 20 from 11-4 weather allowing.Crafts and holiday fun will be on deck for the Gold Camp Christmas events in Cripple Creek and Victor Dec. 11-13. The Teller County Commissioners will meet on Dec. 10 at 9:15 a.m. in the Centennial Building in Cripple Creek.

TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly. The original nonprofit weight-loss group is an educational support group providing weekly weigh-ins and programs to help members make positive changes in the role food plays in their lives. Twas the Night Before Christmas Bingo-Kiwanis. Scheduled for Dec. 10 at the Shining Mountain Golf Club from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Come in your jammies (tasteful/decent jammies!) Prize for the most adorable! Surprise Visitor. Twenty dollars buys a packet for 10 games, 6 cards for each game. This is a great opportunity to have fun and socialize with your friends and neighbors. Come early and have dinner at the Mountain View Bar & Grill. Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the games! Ute Pass Kiwanis sponsors this event.
