Teller officials seeking help in locating possible stalker

The Teller County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public in obtaining information regarding a suspicious vehicle with a Wyoming license plate, driven by an older man.

This person has been involved in several incidents that have raised concerns by law enforcement officials, according to a press release.
“We just want to talk to this person,” said Lt. Marc Porcelli of the Teller County Sheriff’s Department. “There is no crime that has been necessarily committed. We are just asking for help from the community.”

At issue are three questionable incidents involving an out-of-state vehicle with an older man. However, officials haven’t been able to compile a definite description of the person of interest.

On September 30 at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Teller County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the grandmother of a 10-year-old male that the child was approached by an older man driving a black pickup truck with the letters 4X4 on the sides and bobble heads on the dash. This occurred on the previous day. The child was asked by the driver if he needed a ride. The child stated no, and the driver, according to the youth, responded, “I am not a stalker.” He then reportedly drove off.

Then on September 30 at approximately 5:45 p.m., a vehicle matching the same description was reported at the Highland Lakes subdivision following a female jogger. The jogger left the road and cut through the woods. The jogger stated to deputies that the suspicious vehicle was a Ford F150 with white 4×4 lettering and Wyoming license plates.

On October 1 at approximately 7:45 a.m., a vehicle matching the description was reported at the Hybrook bus stop in Divide, but left the scene before deputies could make contact.

If anyone sees a vehicle that matches this description, please contact the Teller County Sheriff’s Office at 719-687-9652. Do not attempt to make contact with the operator of the vehicle.

According to Porcelli, the Teller sheriff’s office hasn’t experienced any case like this in some time. However, he cautioned that the sheriff’s office just wants to make contact with the person.
