Dear Editor:
Violet Watt was responsible for helping her fellow appraisers understand valuation and, she threw them under the bus.

Several appraisers told me that upon finishing her model, Violet Watt told her fellow appraisers that she was done and they were on their own.

During protest, when Appraiser D’s Northeast model was found to have an error, Appraiser K stepped in and re-did Appraiser D’s model. Appraiser K told me that Violet Watt told her to let Appraiser D fail and Violet was angry at her for helping Appraiser D. Appraiser K said, “Violet abandoned us.”

In her speech, Violet Watt said, “20%…yes, 20% of the valuations had to be re-done last cycle…. We just can’t afford to have 20% of our Teller County Family put through the wringer this way.”

THE MODEL WAS REDONE. ALL NORTHEAST VALUES WERE ADJUSTED AT NO COST TO THE COUNTY.

OWNERS WERE ADJUSTED EVEN IF THEY DID NOT PROTEST.

True leadership is not letting your team fail.
