To The Cripple Creek Community:
American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) had the opportunity to bring the Traveling Wall to Cripple Creek in conjunction with the Salute To American Veterans Rally. We’d like to take the opportunity thank everyone involved with making this event a reality and to the community itself for welcoming our organization and this patriotic and educational event into Cripple Creek.
We would of course like to extend a thank you to the City of Cripple Creek and the Salute to American Veterans Rally for the sponsorship and coordination efforts. To Maria Cunningham and Jim Wear, thank you for serving as the planning contacts for this event – it was a pleasure working with you both! We’d like to thank Cripple Creek-Victor High School for providing a beautiful venue to display the Wall again this year. We’d also like to thank everyone that helped prepare the site for the Wall’s arrival.
The escort into town was a wonderful tribute to our fallen heroes and we’d like to thank Tas Blevins for serving as the escort captain and to Longs Drugs in Colorado Springs for providing the staging location for the ride. To all the riders that took time out of their day to participate – thank you!
We would also like to extend a thank you to all volunteers that assisted with the event to include the setup/teardown crews, the Locator Area volunteers and to those that served as security. A thank you also goes out to Cherub House B&B for providing lodging and being so accommodating to our staff while in town.
To the entire community – thank you for taking the time to honor, respect and remember our American heroes.
We very much look forward to returning to Cripple Creek in the future.
