Victor Celebrates the Arts: Labor Day Week Art Competition, Show & Sale. The paintings created during this annual event capture the essence of the 1890s gold camp’s architecture, the old mining buildings along Victor’s hiking trails, and the panoramic views of Pikes Peak and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
August 24 – 31: 13th Annual En Plein Air Artist Competition. Artists will be painting in the streets of historic Victor.
September 1, 2, 3: Open Art Show and Sale. Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Victor Elks Lodge. September 3: Quick Draw Event 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Artists meet at Wallace Park in Victor to paint models and historic props. Lowell Thomas Revisited – History re-enactor Richard Marold will present a program on this famous journalist, author, and world traveler at 4:00 p.m. at the Stratton Outdoor Amphitheater. A reception and Lowell Thomas book sale at the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum will follow the program. Wine and cheese will be served. $15.00 per person. Sept. 3, Oct. 3, Nov. 3: Third on Third – The South Third Street Merchants Association of Victor hosts Third on Third. Merchants on the street will be open late until 8:00 p.m. on the third day of every month, including the Fortune Club, the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum, the Victor Trading Company, and Marigold Mercantile. Refreshments will be served. Shop and dine on South Third! September 8: Gold Bowl Days – Enjoy a super Saturday full of fun & frolic with your friends and family at the Gold Bowl in Victor from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be fun activities for children and adults with a flying objects theme. A helicopter will visit and lunch will be served. Sponsored by the Victor Police and Gold Belt Communities Build-A-Generation. September 8: Victor Community Clean Up – City sponsored dumpster at the heliport for the use of Victor residents only. 7 a.m. until full. The 50/50 game is $1 per card or 6 for $5. Raffles. Door Prizes. October 17: Quarterly DREAM Committee Meeting – 1:00 p.m. at the Victor Elks Building. Followed by a DREAM Celebration at 5:00 p.m. Meeting will include a discussion of business incubation with Downtown Colorado, Inc. and planning a city building inventory.
