Farnborough, Kent, England

Political preference (Republican, Democrat, Independent, Middle of the Road, etc.):
Fiscally conservative, fairly conservative on law and order, fairly liberal on most other things.

How long have you lived/worked in Cripple Creek?
19 years

How the heck did you end up in Cripple Creek?
I ask myself that often. I believe I answered an ad in the Wall Street Journal while working in a casino in Pahrump Nevada. Lois and Maurice Woods came to visit me and then flew me to CO for an interview. I took a job as GM of the 3 Bowl of Gold Resorts properties. Later became GM at the Colorado Grande and then in 1997 I took over Johnny Nolon’s. I believe I am the only owner that started in Colorado as an employee.

What is your favorite thing about Cripple Creek?
The casinos of course.

What is your least favorite thing about Cripple Creek?
Being at the whim of the state legislator.

Where do you loiter?
Pubs, Sport Bars and good restaurants

Most embarrassing moment:
Too many to chose from

Greatest accomplishment:
Probably steering Nolon’s through the smoking ban and economic downturn without having to lay off anyone or cut any employee benefits or reduce anyone’s wages. Or being the first person from Nevada in 6 years to be nominated for Fulbright scholarship.

Where will you be and what will you be doing five years from now?
Probably running Johnny Nolon’s in Cripple Creek. If not involved in business and business ownership somehow. May be in the casino industry maybe not.

If you were granted one magic wish, what would you choose?
Oh the usual World peace. Or West Ham to win the Premiership. World peace is much more likely.

Do you split 10s?

Have you ever done public service without a court order?

If you were publisher of The Mountain Jackpot, what would your first order of business be?
I would take away the Cap Locks key from Mike Parish.

Create your own question and then answer it:
What’s the biggest misconception about you? I’m very sky around people I don’t know well. So if you want to know how I am as a friend, co-worker or employer ask someone that’s been friends or worked with me at least a year.
