Witnessing a rescue dog shift from severe fear-based resource guarding to finding her forever family in just days is a profound reminder of the power of energetic transformation.
The Underdogs with Dog Heaven
At The Underdogs with Dog Heaven—an open-space sanctuary in Colorado—at-risk animals and humans in crisis don’t just find refuge; they manifest the second chances they truly deserve.
As a volunteer specializing in Animal Trauma Healing, I am constantly awed by the profound spiritual intelligence of the animals I work with.
When we shift our frequency from judgment to deep, intuitive listening, radical transformation can happen almost overnight.
That is exactly the miracle that is unfolding with a beautiful 4-year-old mixed-breed dog named Impala. It involved an amazing process.
The Transformation of Impala
Impala arrived at the sanctuary trapped in a reality of severe resource guarding. If a dog or human approached her food or toys, her strong survival instinct would take over, triggering an attack.
But during our trauma healing session, we tapped into the root of her behavior. Impala shared a profound truth from her soul that resembles the many challenges we face ourselves. The following was the main fear and internal struggle Impala encountered:
“They always took my things from me and I didn’t feel important…I need to feel recognized and important.”
To dissolve this old imprint and manifest a new reality, Impala chose a powerful soul-affirmation for her caretaker to anchor throughout the day: “Impala, we are listening with our hearts and souls to you.”
True energetic transformation requires a dedicated human partner. Impala found hers in her caretaker, Melissa.
Instead of treating the behavior as a “problem to manage,” Melissa chose to use the frequency of absolute trust.
As a result, she consciously flooded Impala’s space with feelings of safety, value, and profound importance.
Melissa’s patient, loving presence became the exact energetic anchor Impala needed.
The Miracle of Recovery
The Universe moves with rapid speed when fear is dissolved by love. Just two days after our healing session, the shift began to manifest.
Melissa reached right into Impala’s crate to safely remove a toy bone—a historical trigger that previously would have caused an immediate attack. More importantly, during a cook-out with another dog and a toy around her, Impala wasn’t aggressive.
And because healing always occurs at both ends of the leash, Melissa was entirely free from worry or intimidation. Their energies aligned perfectly.
Now that Impala is in the process of transformation and understanding her own worth, her forever pet parents have officially entered her life!
She is now stepping into her ultimate purpose within a loving family that will support her, and her transformation will lead to a happy forever home in which she is recognized and valued.
