The Rush Casino in Cripple Creek did closed its doors forever last night at 2 a.m., Friday, JAN. 4.
The Rush, which opened a scant six months ago, has already posted signs for patrons to redeem their chips at another casino in Cripple Creek.
Owned by the Denver-based Partners CC group, the three casino owners had promised to be a part of the day-to-day operations. “One thing that will really set us apart is that the owners of The Rush will be on site,” said Joanna Walters, a co-owner and chief operating officer back in July before it opened it’s doors. Yet last night, the owners were not to be found.
The Rush, when it opened, featured close to 250 slot machines, three blackjack tables, a three-card poker table and six traditional poker tables. The casino also had 14 hotel rooms.
According to Walters, the owners had spent close to a year-and-a-half refurbishing and remodeling the building before finally opening its doors in late summer.
