Manitou Springs held its 26th annual Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo Cook-off at Soda Springs Park on Saturday, Feb. 22.
Nine amateur and nine professional teams gathered in the pavilion to compete for their spot as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in their respective categories, as well as the Showmanship and People’s Choice Awards categories.
Among the professional groups, Gather Food Studio won the award for the best. In second place was Slow Downz, followed in third place by Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar. In the amateur division, Paul Haas and the Bayou Boys took top honors. In second place was Gus Bootle and the Creole Kitchen and in third place was J.J. DuBose, the Ragin’ Cajuns.
Gus Bootle and the Creole Kitchen also ranked second place in the professional category based on point values, but was unintentionally placed in the amateur category.
This year’s People’s Choice Award went to Gus Bootle and the Creole Kitchen and the Showmanship Award went to JJ DuBose and the Ragin’ Cajuns.
The Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo Cook-Off was sponsored by the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce, Visitors Bureau & Office of Economic Development, Pikes Peak America’s Mountain and Colorado Peak Real Estate.
