The Passing of Judith Lambourne Bowman

Judith Lambourne Bowman, nicknamed Judie, was 71 when she peacefully passed Monday January 22, 2018 at the Cripple Creek Care Center, where she spent many happy years after sustaining a massive stroke in 2011.  She is survived by sisters Christine Bowman and Frances Ballesteros, and brothers John Bowman and Mark Bowman.  She was born in San Diego, CA on May 31, 1946.  She attended University’s of Colorado and California Berkeley, earning a PhD in Psychology and had a successful practice treating schizophrenics.  Judie was an avid reader and loved her classical and blues music along with her furry children.

John R. Bowman, 80, of Cripple Creek, Colorado

John R. Bowman, 80, of Cripple Creek, Colorado passed away on January 31, 2017.

John was born August 3, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts. He moved to Cripple Creek at age nine with his father and brother. John graduated from Cripple Creek High School in 1954. He was drafted into the Army in 1959 and proudly served stateside for two and a half years. He also served in the Air Force Reserve.


John purchased District Supply Co. in 1971 and did electrical contracting, auto sales, and blasting supply sales along with numerous other services virtually up until his death. If he couldn’t help you, he knew someone who could!

John is survived by his three children, son, Todd (Jen) of Colorado Springs, daughter, Sandra Chapman (Jim) of Cripple Creek, and daughter, Brenda (Ross) Hawkins of Rio Vista, California. John also proudly had six grandsons, two granddaughters and three great grandsons along with four nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Paul.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, February 10, 2017 at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Cripple Creek followed by a Celebration of Life held at the Cripple Creek Elks Club, 375 E. Bennett, Cripple Creek at 1:00PM. Services will be followed by a potluck dinner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cripple Creek District Museum, PO Box 1210, Cripple Creek CO 80813, where John proudly served on the board for many years.

Shane Clifford Theisen 42

Shane Clifford Theisen 42 of Cripple Creek, Colorado Died Unexpectedly on January 8, 2017.

Shane was born April 7, 1974 to Robert (Marcia) Theisen of Fairborn, Ohio and Debra Parks of Cripple Creek.

He enjoyed his time with his three boys and their friends and especially at his favorite area the Hole in the wall on shelf road between Cripple Creek and Canon City Colorado.

Shane was a heavy equipment operator by trade.

Shane is survived by his Father and Mother his three Sons; Dawson, Dustin and Parker all of Canon City Colorado;  his two brothers Jon (Sara) Jaccard of Arlington Texas and Charles Martinez of Colorado Springs, Two Sisters Sarah (Jeremy) Lynch and Dory both of Fairborn Ohio; Nephews Nile and Brayden; Nieces Hannah and Ava and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Glen and Patricia Parks and Matthew and Bitten Theisen and Uncle Keith Parks.     

Services will be held at the Little Chapel of the Hills In Divide Co. On January, 28 at 1:00 pm.
